Vijayawada: In a major welfare initiative, the Andhra Pradesh government has granted leave to state police personnel on two personal occasions — their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
The directive was issued by the Director General of Police, allowing police personnel to relax emotionally, spend quality time with their families and maintain a healthy balance between professional duties and personal life across all ranks. The order states that this humane approach is expected to boost morale and intended as a gesture of appreciation for the force’s relentless service.
The decision is expected to enhance motivation and improve job satisfaction within the force while recognising the demanding nature of policing duties.
