AP Offers Strong Opportunities In Agri, Sunrise Sectors: Minister Srinivas

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry Federation (AP Chambers) on Saturday held two sector-focused sessions on the second day of its Business Expo 2025, highlighting emerging industries and agri-led innovation as key drivers of the State’s economic growth.
The morning session, titled Emerging Sunrise Sectors in AP – Pathways for Growth & Investments, focused on new-age industries and investment opportunities. Minister for MSME, SERP, NRI Empowerment & Relations Kondapalli Srinivas, attending as chief guest, said Andhra Pradesh has one of the country’s strongest industrial policies, driven by a cluster-based development approach. He noted that the State offers vast opportunities, particularly in the agri sector, and highlighted the role of the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub in fostering innovation.

A panel discussion moderated by J.S.R.K. Prasad, Managing Director of Better Castings, featured G. Krishnan, CEO of the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub; C. Kutumba Rao, vice-chairman of the Swarnandhra P4 Foundation; Burra Phani Chandra, MD of Eshan Energy & Inventiz; and representatives from ITAAP, Domineer, AP MSME Association and AM Green Group. Discussions focused on investment prospects, skill development, technology adoption, global market access and value addition for sustainable industrial growth. The minister later launched new products from Morris Garages and Tata Motors.
In the afternoon, AP Chambers hosted a session on Agri Value Chains, Food Processing & AgTech Innovation, bringing policymakers, industry leaders, startups and agri-entrepreneurs together. Amirneni Satyanarayana, chair of the Banking & Finance Committee of AP Chambers, welcomed the participants. Bhaskara Rao stressed the need to strengthen agri value chains, promote food processing and leverage technology to enhance farmers’ incomes.
Principal Secretary (Food Processing) Dr Chiranjeevi Chowdhary, attending as guest of honour, underscored the importance of value chain development and reducing post-harvest losses. He outlined State initiatives to promote food processing industries, encourage agri-based startups and build a robust ecosystem through policy support and infrastructure.
