AP-Odisha team seizes 200 litres of ID liquor

Authorities confiscated the equipment used for brewing the ID liquor.

Vijayawada: A joint operation by the excise authorities from both Andhra Pradesh and Odisha along the AP-Odisha border against illicitly distilled liquor resulted in seizure of 200 litres of ID liquor and destruction of 11,200 litres of fermented jaggery wash. Authorities confiscated the equipment used for brewing the ID liquor.

The AP excise team led by enforcement director Rahul Dev Sharma and excise commissioner Nishant Kumar, along with the team from Odisha, combed the dense forest areas of Sulava Pedima, Kerada, Valava and Vanaja and dismantled distillation units. As many as six cases have been booked against those involved in bootlegging.
The enforcement team comprised 54 officers from AP excise department and 15 from Odisha excise department.
