AP NGO Association Urges Resolution of Panchayat Raj Employees’ Issues
Members further proposed a dedicated website to publish seniority lists of all cadres for transparency

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ (APNGO) Association has resolved to pursue resolution of long-pending issues of panchayat raj employees, including promotions, notional increments and pay revision.
Addressing a media briefing after a state executive meeting of panchayat raj development officers in Vijayawada, association state president A. Vidyasagar said the body would soon meet ministers and officials to press for early redressal of employees’ grievances.
He said panchayat raj staff play a key role in implementing rural development and welfare schemes and stressed the need for timely resolution of service-related issues. The association urged the government to expedite promotions and ensure employees are not assigned duties on Sundays and public holidays.
The leaders also called for an early decision on the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and appreciated the government for clearing dues in phases, while seeking faster implementation of remaining commitments.
A meeting presided over by state association president Y.V.D. Prasad adopted resolutions welcoming the proposed recategorisation process, while seeking amendments and clarity on implementation timelines. Members also demanded that promotions across cadres be completed before rollout.
The association sought two notional increments for Grade-5 employees, along with promotions for Panchayat Development Officers to Deputy MPDO (GSWS) posts in Zones I and IV. It also demanded disposal of pending disciplinary cases or granting of promotions to eligible staff.
Members further proposed a dedicated website to publish seniority lists of all cadres for transparency.
Several state and district-level leaders attended the meeting.
