AP Neta Natter | Naidu Gets Things Done His Way In Admin, Party Leaders
Impressed by the huge turnout and arrangements, Naidu praised Suresh and his team, sending the MLA and his followers straight to cloud nine. For now, the MLA has moved from the ‘needs improvement’ to ‘good show’ category much to the his own relief, and that and of his followers

One of the hallmarks of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is getting things done. Be it in administration, or keeping his party leaders to step up to the task, as has been the case with the Udayagiri MLA Kakarla Suresh, who some six months ago, received an earful from Naidu at an event at Vinjamuru, for poor coordination with other leaders, and lack of focus on development. Cut to six month later, Suresh apparently has breathed a sigh of relief, after he earned a pat on the back from his leader thanks to the successful conduct of the recent Palle Panduga 3.0 at Ramapuram. Impressed by the huge turnout and arrangements, Naidu praised Suresh and his team, sending the MLA and his followers straight to cloud nine. For now, the MLA has moved from the ‘needs improvement’ to ‘good show’ category much to the his own relief, and that and of his followers.

Botsa aims at Vijaysai, riles Paul
V. Vijaysai Reddy, the former YSRC leader and one-time confidant of party president and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who of late has been ploughing a lonely furrow, has received his latest set of brickbats from former partymate Botsa Satyanarayana, who equated Vijaysai Reddy with the noted evangelist-turned-politician K.A. Paul. To questions on Vijaysai Reddy’s criticism of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and Jagan Mohan Reddy, Botsa’s remark that there “used to be one K.A. Paul, an evangelist-turned-politician and now another person has emerged. There is no need for party workers to waste time.’’ While whether Botsa overstepped on this one with regard to Vijaysai remains to be seen, the never-take-anything-lying-down Dr Paul was quick to the cut demanding an apology from Botsa for unnecessarily dragging him into a controversy.

Political pacts help solve tough riddles
Political alliances, like extended families, can sometimes bring up some not so easy to solve riddles. Take the case of the race for the Greater Vizag mayor’s post. A bunch of hats have been thrown in and these belong to those from families of established leaders, leaving the NDA with the delicate task of keeping everyone happy while also risking offending them. In the race are TD contenders Ravi Teja, son of Bhimili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, and one of the two sons of Vizag West MLA Ganababu. Adding to this is a relative of state TD president and Gajuwaka MLA Palla Srinivasa Rao. Joining this mix is the reported move by BJP North MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju to field his daughter Deepika, while state BJP president P.V.N. Madhav and Jana Sena South MLA Vamsi Krishna Srinivas are said to be backing their respective wives for the job. The list goes on with corporation chairpersons Gandi Babji and Pila Govinda Satyanarayana, along with former corporator Gandham Srinivasa Rao, also said to be in the running for the seaside city’s top post.

Plaque sends Jyothula up a tree
As laying of foundation stones go, this was one for the record books. An austere event in Jaggampeta where a rural water supply scheme work’s ground breaking ceremony was tacked to a coconut tree leaving the chief guest, Jaggampeta TD MLA Jyothula Venkata Appa Rao visibly unhappy. It all began with a RWS junior engineer wanted to get things going with the scheme’s works but was hamstrung because the contractor reportedly had some financial issues. Not one to give up, the official, who apparently is a tough nut to crack, took matters into his own hands and hung the plaque to a coconut tree. When the MLA arrived, there was no band baja, no priests, nothing. A trowel was waiting for the MLA to make the first formal dig, Rao, clearly taken aback reportedly wanted to know if the junior engineer was not a Hindu and if that was the reason why there were no priests. Once this question was answered, the MLA went with the flow, and laid the foundation stone doing some of the work himself.

Reel or real? Babu gets an AI makeover
It’s all pervasive these days and apparently has even entered the office of the ASR district collector whose picture reportedly received an AI assisted makeover. An image of collector T. Nishantini released by the district public relations office took people by surprise as it appeared to be digitally enhanced and the person in the picture looked noticeably different than in real life. While speculation ran rife on the image, questions too began doing the rounds if authenticity was no longer a required hallmark of official government communications, even if such communications are for publicity.

Revanth puts Musi religious zone plan in action
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent distinction between political chants appears to have acquired a rather concrete shape. Revanth had said the Congress chants “Hara Hara Mahadeva”, describing Lord Shiva as the God of the poor, while the BJP chants “Jai Sriram”. While the BJP tried to nitpick, the Revanth government within a week issued a GO for developing the Omkareswara Swamy temple complex at Manchirevula on the banks of the Musi in Hyderabad for a whopping ₹1,108.27 crore, along with a six-lane approach road linking the proposed temple as part of Musi rejuvenation project. The political buzz is that Lord Shiva has been given the first slot in the Musi’s proposed spiritual line-up. But the Congress government is not stopping there. A mosque, church and gurudwara are also proposed along the Musi banks, with funds for the other three expected to follow soon.

Monsoon gone, KTR still hasn’t walked the talk
Words and deeds usually form the very benchmark in politics and politicians. But, at times, words tend flow more freely than water, and such appears to be the case with BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao’s warning that he would take up a padayatra from Kodad to Hailya if water was not released from Nagarjunasagar for irrigating crops. This announcement came in the Assembly with KTR declaring if water is not released by the end of the monsoon season, then he would hit the ground with his padayatra. Though some BRS leaders are visiting farmers in distress and whose crops have dried up and offering words of solace, they have kept a studied silence on their leader’s declared padayatra, though the monsoon is long gone.
