AP Minister Gottipati Distributes Bicycles to Students in Addanki

The minister handed over the bicycles to students at Zilla Parishad high school of Makkenavaripalem and students of ZPHS in Medarametla

Vijayawada: Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar has said the state government is committed to providing a conducive environment for students through the modernisation of educational institutions.

With a view to promoting education and enabling better access to schools for rural students, SEIL Energy India Ltd, one of the largest independent power producers (IPP) in India, has donated 1,000 bicycles to school-going children in Addanki, Bapatla district, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The minister handed over the bicycles on Friday to students at Zilla Parishad high school of Makkenavaripalem and students of ZPHS in Medarametla.

Ravi Kumar said, “We are immensely grateful to SEIL Energy for their generous contribution of 1,000 bicycles. This initiative is a critical enabler in the state government’s larger vision to distribute 10,000 bicycles to underprivileged children, ensuring that no child is denied access to education due to lack of transportation.”

The minister highlighted the importance of cycling for the health of students and noticed a decline in the usage of bicycles even in rural areas.

Janmejaya Mahapatra, CEO to SEIL Energy India, said, “At SEIL Energy, we believe that education is the most-powerful tool for community transformation. Through this initiative, we are not just donating bicycles ---we are helping unlock the future potential of 1,000 children. We are proud to partner with the AP government in advancing this noble and meaningful cause.”

The minister participated in the Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu (first step to good governance) initiative in Santamaguluru and interacted with the beneficiaries to gather feedback on the implementation of government programmes. He distributed cheques and letters of support to 46 beneficiaries from the CM’s Relief Fund and inaugurated the newly constructed CC roads with side drains in Makkenavari Palem.
