AP Medical Council chairman Daggumati Srihari Rao warned of stern action against those who practice medicine with fake medical certificates across the state.

Vijayawada: AP Medical Council chairman Daggumati Srihari Rao warned of stern action against those who practice medicine with fake medical certificates across the state.

Rao, who assumed charge as chairman of APMC at a programme held in the NTR University of Health Sciences here on Wednesday, said that those who pursued their medical courses in foreign universities should register in AP as per norms of National Medical Commission (NMC) and pointed out that as some states were giving some relaxation in norms for registration, AP was also contemplating to do so.
He said that the registration would be taken up through online mode hereafter and those who wanted to do so should go for online booking of slots and once their registration process was completed, registration certificate would be sent through registered post to the applicants. He announced to give some relaxation in the norms for credit hours to the senior doctors aged more than 70 years. He also announced to present gold medals to the meritorious students at university and college level to the medical students as was the practice followed earlier.
The APMC chairman vowed to serve as a bridge between the doctors and patients and take up issues raised by the Women Commission and AP State Human Rights Commission.
He thanked the CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Dy CM Pawan Kalyan and health minister Satya Kumar Yadav for giving him the opportunity to become chairman of APMC.
