AP: Man Dies in Car Accident on Kadapa–Kurnool NH

Kadapa: A 50-year-old man died after being hit by a car on the Kadapa–Kurnool National Highway near Pedda Jonnawaram Metta in Duvvur mandal on Monday night.

According to police, the deceased was identified as Rekalakunta Pedda Subbarayudu, a resident of SC Colony in Pedda Jonnawaram village.

Police said Subbarayudu was returning home after work and was crossing the highway when a car travelling from Kurnool towards Kadapa struck him. He sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Subbarayudu was the sole earning member of his family and is survived by his wife, Jayalakshmamma.

Duvvur sub-inspector J. Dhanunjayudu said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. The body was shifted to the Government Hospital in Proddatur for post-mortem examination.
