AP High Court Cancels Single Bench’s Permission to Pedda Reddy
Rivalry with JC Prabhakar Reddy sparks law and order concerns in the town

Anantapur: The AP High Court on Wednesday cancelled permission granted by the court’s single judge bench to former MLA K. Pedda Reddy of YSRC to visit Tadipathri in Andhra Pradesh.
The court posted the next hearing on the case after three weeks following a petition filed by the Anantapur district police over possible law and order issues in Tadipathri if Pedda Reddy is allowed to visit the city.
Over the past six years, there has been a tussle going on between the former YSRC MLA and Tadipathri municipal chairman J.C. Prabhakar Reddy. Earlier, ED cases had been filed against the JCs over running their B-IV vehicles as B VI vehicles registered in Nagaland. At that time, when YSRC had been in power, Pedda Reddy, as MLA had ventured into J.C. Prabhakar Reddy house and sat on his chair in absence of Prabhakar Reddy and his family members.
Since then, their rivalry has taken a serious turn as both leaders are trying for an upper hand in Tadipathri. It is said Prabhakar Reddy is now targeting to demolish Pedda Reddy’s house for violation of norms, using his influence as the municipal chairman of Tadipathri.
When Pedda Reddy had tried to go Tadipathri, Anantapur police stopped him at the border, pointing to law and order deteriorating in the city. The YSRC leader then had approached the High Court and a single judge bench granted him permission to visit his home in Tadipathri on Monday.
Police again stopped Pedda Reddy at the borders saying at the time J.C. Prabhakar Reddy had been participating in “pratishtha” of a Lord Shiva Statue on the same day. When Pedda Reddy staged a protest on the main road demanding that he be allowed to visit his home in Tadipathri, Anantapur police approached the High Court on Monday, seeking a stay on the order of the single bench.
On Wednesday, the High Court cancelled the permission of the single bench and posted the matter petition for hearing after three weeks.
