AP: HC Questions DGP Over SIT Formed to Trace Missing Girl

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday questioned DGP Harish Kumar Gupta over the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace a missing girl.

A two-judge bench comprising Justice Battu Devanand and Justice Gedela Tuhin Kumar expressed displeasure with the DGP for failing to produce the girl and for constituting the SIT with police personnel from Guntur and Pattabhipuram police stations.

The court observed that the state government was getting a bad name due to officials like this.

The court posted the next hearing in the matter to September 7.
