Attack on TDP office: HC dismisses plea for pre-arrest bail to ex-MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi
He was arrested under the provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, along with other charges.

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed a plea for anticipatory bail, filed by former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, in relation to the attack on the Telugu Desam party office at Gannavaram.
A single judge bench of Justice VRK Krupa Sagar held a hearing and dismissed the petition. The incident took place during the term of the YSRC.
The case was based on a complaint from TDP office computer operator Satyavardhan to the police in February last year. Vamsi was the accused 71 in the case. Several of the accused were arrested recently as part of the ongoing inquiry.
When Vamsi moved the court for per-arrest bail, the court gave an interim relief by asking the police not to initiate coercive measures until further orders. However, after hearing both the parties, the court rejected the plea.
Meanwhile, the police moved a petition at the SC-ST court, seeking custody of Vamsi to facilitate fresh inquiry, in a case pertaining to alleged abduction, intimidation and violation of provisions of SC and ST Act, and the court held a hearing.
The police informed the court that they were yet to arrest six accused in the case, and that only five accused including Vamsi were arrested. Cops sought Vasmi’s custody for reconstruction of the scene of offence.
The court adjourned the case for its next hearing to Friday.
