AP Govt To Fill 6,534 Academic Instructor Posts Without Written Exam
The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has announced a major recruitment drive to address teacher shortages in government schools to fill 6,534 Academic Instructor posts.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has announced a major recruitment drive to address teacher shortages in government schools to fill 6,534 Academic Instructor posts, commonly called Vidya Volunteer posts, for the 2026-27 academic year. The recruitment will be done based on educational qualifications and academic merit. There will be no written exam and the last date to apply is August 21.
A total of 6,534 posts will be filled under two categories: Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT): 3,597 posts
School Assistant: 2,937 posts
Eligibility for SGT Posts: Candidates must have completed Intermediate along with a 2-year D.Ed course from a recognized institution.
For School Assistant Posts: Candidates must have a degree in the relevant subject plus a B.Ed from a recognized institution. Candidates who have qualified TET or DSC will be given preference in the selection process.
Selected candidates will be paid a monthly honorarium.SGTs: Rs. 10,000 and School Assistants: Rs. 12,500
Application Procedure
The application process will be conducted offline. Eligible candidates must submit applications at the MEO office under their jurisdiction. After receiving applications, they will be sent to the concerned higher officials. Based on qualifications and merit, the final list will be announced.
Last date to submit applications: August 21
Submission of applications to DEO office: August 22
Scrutiny and approval of applications: August 23 – 28
Final merit list: August 29
Appointment orders to selected candidates: August 30, 31
Date of joining duty: September 1
The appointment is valid only for the 2026-27 academic year. Selected Vidya Volunteers will serve in government schools from September 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027. Officials said this move is aimed at reducing the teacher shortage and ensuring smooth functioning of classes in government schools for the upcoming academic year.
