AP Govt on High Alert as Low Pressure Triggers Heavy Rains in Nothern Andhra

Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea due to adverse weather conditions.

Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh government has gone on alert following the formation of a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal. With rains lashing several parts of Uttarandhra, Home Minister Anita reviewed the situation and directed officials to set up control rooms in all districts and issue alerts to residents in low-lying areas. She instructed that NDRF and SDRF teams remain on standby for relief operations and ordered the immediate removal of hazardous hoardings and fallen trees.

Meanwhile, Minister Atchannaidu also alerted officials in the rain-affected districts. Srikakulam District Collector Swapnil Dinakar Pundkar discussed the situation with SP Maheshwar Reddy as incessant rains continued across the region.
Fishermen have been strictly advised not to venture into the sea due to adverse weather conditions. Irrigation officials have been told to closely monitor canals and ponds, while the Agriculture Department has been instructed to guide farmers on necessary precautions in view of the heavy rains.
