Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government filed a caveat in the Supreme Court in New Delhi on Wednesday in response to a YSRC petition seeking a stay on local body elections in the state.

The state government urged the Supreme Court to hear its submissions before passing any orders on the YSRC petition.

The YSRC alleged that the government had begun preparations for the local body elections before completion of the special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and was relying on local body data from January.
