AP Governor in Srisailam to offer prayers

As a part of the ongoing 11-day Brahmotsavam celebrations for Mahashivaratri, special pujas were performed on the sixth day of the festival

Kurnool: Governor Justice S Abdul Nazeer flew into the Sunnipenta helipad on Monday evening to offer prayers at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy temple in Srisailam.

He was welcomed by endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, as also ministers NMD Farooq, BC Janardhan Reddy, Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and others.

The governor then proceeded to the Bhramaramba Guest House in Srisailam.

Further, as part of the ongoing 11-day Brahmotsavam celebrations for Mahashivaratri, special pujas were performed on the sixth day of the festival. Rituals for Sri Chandeeswara Swamy were conducted in the Yagashala, along with Mandaparadhanam, Panchavaranarchana, Shiva Panchakshari, Nityahavanam, Rudra Homam and Chandi Homam, following the Agama traditions.

In the evening, the Pradoshakala pooja, Japanushthanam, Rudra Parayanam and Homam were conducted, followed by a Pushpa Pallaki Seva for the deities. The utsava murthies, adorned with flowers, were placed at Akka Mahadevi Alankara Mandapam before being taken in a grand procession, accompanied by traditional mangala vadyam.

As previously announced, free laddu prasadam distribution began on Monday and will continue till the 27th. Temple officials are distributing the laddus to devotees in West Madaveedhi.
