AP Government Presents Rs.2.5 Crore Cash Reward to Cricketer Sree Charani
Charani had played a crucial role in India lifting the coveted ICC Women’s One-Day International World Cup.

Vijayawada: Recognising woman cricketer Nallapureddy Sree Charani’s outstanding performance on the global stage, the NDA coalition government in AP has presented her a cash reward ₹2.5 crore.
Charani had played a crucial role in India lifting the coveted ICC Women’s One-Day International World Cup. Education and IT minister Nara Lokesh personally handed over the cheque to the cricketer during a meeting at his Undavalli residence on Wednesday.
In addition, the state government announced other incentives involving a 500-square-yard house site in Visakhapatnam and a Group-I rank post in the state government after the completion of her degree. Government orders have been issued in this regard.
Hailing from Kadapa district, Charani has been consistent in making a mark in international cricket with inspiring performances. In the recently concluded ICC Women’s One Day World Cup, she emerged as one of the key contributors that enabled the Indian women to lift the world cup.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh appreciated Charani as a role model for young sportspersons, especially girls. Her achievements have brought pride to Andhra Pradesh. The minister underlined the state government’s commitment to encouraging sporting excellence through meaningful support and recognition.
Those present on the occasion included Sports minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Sports Authority of AP (SAAP) chairman Animini Ravinaidu, special chief secretary (Sports) Ajay Jain, SAAP managing director Bharani, Andhra Cricket Association treasurer D. Srinivas and joint secretary B. Vijay Kumar.
