AP Government Orders Probe into Mishap at Pharma City

Visakhapatnam: The state government has ordered an inquiry into the cause of the accident at Dakshin Energy in Pharma City, Parawada, in Anakapalle district on Tuesday, which caused the death of two persons.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and ministers stressed that, from now on, there would be no compromise vis-a-vis implementation of safety standards in industries. Strict action would be taken against those found responsible for any lapses.

Officials informed Naidu that firefighting teams responded immediately after the blaze broke out. Two fire engines from the Pharma City Fire Station and another from Parawada were rushed to the spot, and the flames were brought under control.

The CM called for best treatment to the injured and emphasized the need for continuous assistance and support to the families of the victims.

Ministers Vangalapudi Anitha and Vasamsetti Subash condoled the deaths. Anitha spoke to Anakapalle district collector and SP.

The CPI(M) state committee has called upon the government to pay suitable compensation to the families of the two workers who died in the mishap. The party’s state secretary V Srinivasa Rao sought best possible medical treatment for the injured.
