AP Government Clears ISKCON Project Below Penukonda Hill
The ISKON project being developed over 60 acres is expected to generate employment for 4,035 people directly and indirectly.

Anantapur: Andhra Pradesh has given all necessary clearances for the much-awaited ISKCON project at Penukonda in Satya Sai district. Accordingly, spiritual and cultural centres will be coming up on the Penukonda Hill as well as its base.
ISKCON of Bengaluru proposes to construct a Golden Temple for Sri Lakshmi Narasimha on the hill, along with a base camp below the hill, with an investment of ₹425.20 crore.
The AP cabinet cleared the ISKON project soon after the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approved the project at Penukonda, the summer capital of Vijayanagar Empire, BC Welfare minister S. Savitha, who is the MLA from Penukonda, expressed her gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Tourism minister Kandula Durgesh for their intervention in speeding up the project.

Savitha stated that the ISKCON Spiritual and Cultural Centre will significantly boost tourism and spiritual activities in Penukonda, attracting devotees from across the country and abroad.
The minister said ISKON will take up construction works shortly. She pointed out that a road has already been laid to reach the hill top of Penukonda.
The hill is already attracting tourists and visitors from Bengaluru and surrounding villages.
