AP Got Rs.23 Lakh Crore Investments in 23 Months: CM

Naidu said the functioning of the officers in the districts was good to the extent of 80 per cent but cautioned that he was examining the performance of every officer.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said Andhra Pradesh was able to attract investments worth Rs.23 lakh crore in the last 23 months, with a potential for 24 lakh jobs.

The CM held a tele-conference with district collectors mainly on implementation of government services from the RTGS at the Secretariat here on Monday. As many as 40,000 employees at the subordinate level also attended it.

Naidu said the government was working with welfare, development and good governance as its top priority and noted that, “with the support from all,” he secured the ‘Best Reformer of the Year’ award.

He said the state had set up a target to realise Swarnandhra by 2027 and that they had laid foundation stones for major projects like Google, ArcelorMittal, Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft in addition to getting another project from BPCL. The AMCA project would help development of an aerospace city between Puttaparthi-Bengaluru, he said, and called for all to work as a team to realise development.

Maintaining that the people developed confidence in the government after seeing its performance in the last two years, he said that the kind of feedback they were getting with regard to services reflected this. One of the services, distribution of pensions, stood at the top level.

He directed the district administration to find out any gaps with regard to implementation of schemes and developmental works and plug them.

Naidu said the functioning of the officers in the districts was good to the extent of 80 per cent but cautioned that he was examining the performance of every officer. He would honour them if they worked hard.

He felt the need to focus more on resolving the petitions submitted by the people by separating them as financial and non-financial and called for resolving the petitions to the tune of 100 per cent of those related to non-financial issues.

Naidu said there should be no corruption and underscored the need to work with transparency.

Referring to the Nellore collector’s experiment, they planned to visit four times every assembly constituency.

“We are making efforts to ensure no shortage of drinking water in the summer,” he said and directed the officers to attend to even small issues.
