AP: GoM Reviews Proposed Models for New Retail Excise Policy

VIJAYAWADA: The Group of Ministers (GoM), headed by excise minister Kollu Ravindra, reviewed proposed models for the new retail excise policy and directed excise authorities to revise them and resubmit them for further consideration on Thursday.
Ministers Satya Kumar Yadav (health), Gottipati Ravi Kumar (power) and Kondapalli Srinivas (MSME) participated in the meeting online.
Excise authorities presented the performance of the current retail excise policy for 2025-26 up to July 2026 and placed various models proposed for the new retail excise policy. The new policy is likely to come into effect from October 1 if the state government decides not to extend the tenure of the existing policy.
The excise authorities also presented feedback received from various stakeholders on the proposed policy. The ministers discussed the suggestions at length.
