AP Gets 175 Additional UG Medical Seats at Piduguralla, Vijayawada
Andhra Pradesh has received 175 additional MBBS seats for government medical colleges at Piduguralla and Vijayawada, raising the state’s total MBBS seats to 7,090.

Andhra Pradesh has been given 175 additional undergraduate medical seats, taking the total of additional seats granted so far to 325 across four government medical colleges this academic year.
With the addition of newly sanctioned medical seats, AP’s total MBBS seats have risen to 7,090.
Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav announced here on Monday that the national medical commission had given a letter of permission for 100 seats at the Piduguralla government medical college and 75 seats in the Siddartha government medical college in Vijayawada.
With this, AP got 325 seats in four government medical colleges this academic year. In the last two years, the state government managed to secure a total of 505 medical seats for the government medical colleges, while 550 seats for private medical colleges.
AP got an additional 1,055 medical seats in both government and private medical colleges.
The minister said this would be of great help to the meritorious students in the NEET-UG. He said hard efforts were made to get sanction of additional medical seats to the state.
Accordingly, for 2026-27, the medical seats in government medical colleges have been enhanced in the order -- with Nellore getting 25, Paderu 50, Kadapa 75, Vijayawada 75 and Piduguralla 100.
