AP extends last date for liquor outlet applications for toddy tappers to February 8
The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the last date for receiving applications for liquor retail outlets by toddy tappers to February 8, until 5:00 PM, from Wednesday.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has extended the last date for receiving applications for liquor retail outlets by toddy tappers to February 8, until 5:00 PM, from Wednesday.
Excise superintendents in various districts issued notifications regarding the extension. The state government had reserved 340 liquor retail outlets for toddy tappers, of which 339 are set for allocation, while one remains pending due to an issue. By Wednesday evening, 730 applications had been received across the state, with each applicant paying a non-refundable application fee of ₹2 lakh.
Excise commissioner Nishant Kumar visited excise stations in Machilipatnam and Vuyyuru, reviewing the processing of applications, excise crimes, and enforcement measures.
At Machilipatnam, he called for stringent action against illicit liquor and emphasised the need for implementing Navodayam 2.0 in line with government policies. In Vuyyuru, he interacted with applicants and addressed their concerns regarding the allocation process
