AP Distributing New Pattadar Passbooks Free to State’s 22.33 Lakh Farmers

The minister maintained that resurvey across 6,688 villages left serious discrepancies in land title deeds distributed in 4,783 villages.

Vijayawada:Revenue, Registration and Stamps minister Anagani Satyaprasad on Tuesday asserted that the coalition government is systematically cleansing the revenue system after the hastily executed Resurvey 1.0 of agricultural lands by the YSRC regime.

The minister maintained that resurvey across 6,688 villages left serious discrepancies in land title deeds distributed in 4,783 villages. These errors related to the extent of land, land parcel map (LPM) numbers, joint LPMs, survey numbers, names of farmers and their Aadhaar card details.

“Moreover, the printing of then chief minister’s Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photograph on the land title documents further alarmed farmers,” Satyaprasad pointed out. He accused YSRC leaders and workers of influencing field staff through pressure and inducements, causing injustice to farmers

He maintained that after assuming office, the NDA coalition government conducted village assemblies in all resurveyed villages to rectify mistakes related to 7.5 lakh complaints that had been received.

The minister underlined that the government went by the principle that land belongs to farmers and accountability rests with the government. The state is thus distributing 22.33 lakh new pattadar passbooks now free of cost in 4,783 villages. These carry the official State Seal and QR codes to ensure authenticity and transparency, he emphasised.

Clarifying concerns over changes made related to the extent of land in the new resurvey, Satyaprasad clarified that the new resurvey followed central norms and uses modern rover-based technology, measuring land strictly within the boundaries long used by owners. He said the margin of error is negligible compared to the British-era chain surveys, which allowed up to five per cent variation per acre.

“Farmers can seek re-measurement if they suspect any error,” the minister declared.

On land parcel map issues, he said 1,68,688 LPM numbers had required corrections due to the earlier rushed resurvey 1.0. He pointed out that verification of these numbers has been completed on the Webland platform. 100 per cent correction will be achieved within two months, he assured.

Satyaprasad declared that Resurvey 2.0 has been transparent and farmer-centric, conducted over 175 days with extensive ground-truthing, thereby reducing errors to below one per cent. He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to making the revenue system people-friendly by resolving the lingering issues swiftly.
