AP CPSEA Flags Disparities in CPS DA Arrears Disbursement

AP CPSEA State president Baji Pathan and general secretary Karimi Rajeshwar Rao said the release of arrears lacked uniformity, with employees receiving varying numbers of instalments

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh CPSE Employees’ Association (AP CPSEA) has welcomed the State government’s allocation of nearly ₹110 crore towards Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears for Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) employees and teachers from July 2018, but raised concerns over disparities in the payment process.

AP CPSEA State president Baji Pathan and general secretary Karimi Rajeshwar Rao said the release of arrears lacked uniformity, with employees receiving varying numbers of instalments. While earlier government orders assured payment of each pending DA in three instalments, they said some employees had received only one instalment, others two or three, and many CPS employees had not received any payment at all.

The association said there was no clear rationale for the uneven disbursement and that the issue had been brought to the notice of the Finance Minister.

To seek corrective action, an AP CPSEA delegation led by JAC chairman K.R. Suryanarayana met finance minister Payyavula Keshav and Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and submitted a memorandum. The delegation sought withdrawal of all pending cases against CPS employees through a single common Government Order, an immediate review of the CPS, and a positive decision on their demands.

The association also urged the government to ease what it described as excessive official pressure on Secretariat staff.
