AP Council Witnessses Uproar on Alleged Lapses on Mega DSC-2025

The ruling alliance expressed its willingness for a debate.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council has witnessed uproarious scenes as the opposition YSR Congress legislators demanded a debate on alleged lapses in conduct of Mega DSC-2025 for recruitment of teachers, leading to sharp exchange of words by rival sides.

The ruling alliance expressed its willingness for a debate.

As the council session began, chairman Koyye Mosehan Raju rejected the adjournment motion seeking a debate on

alleged lapses in the mega DSC-2025 and started the Question Hour. Three questions were answered by ministers BC Janardhan Reddy and Nadendla Monohar.

Opposition YSR Congress legislators trooped into the well of the house holding placards and raising slogans demanding a debate on Mega DSC. They climbed up the chairman’s podium and continued raising slogans. Some of them kept banging the podium.

Civil supplies minister Nadendla Manohar appealed to the chairman to bring the house in order to continue the

business and expressed concern over the unruly behaviour of the opposition. The chairman repeatedly advised the opposition members to go back to their seats and calm down.

In the melee, leader of the opposition Botsa Satyanarayana raised a point of order and said that nowhere in

the country did such anomalies take place as has happened in the conduct of mega DSC in AP.

Agriculture minister K Atchannaidu stood up and criticised the opposition members and alleged that it was their (YSRC) government that had failed to conduct the DSC for all five years of its tenure despite making a poll promise.

He hurled abuses at the leader of opposition Botsa Satyarnarayana, citing his failure to conduct the DSC while as the education minister. Atchannaidu called him ‘Daddamma’.

With the house erupting into a pandemonium, the chairman adjoined the proceedings for a brief period. When he resumed the business, the opposition continued raising the demand for a debate and an apology from the agriculture minister for the abusive comment he made against the opposition leader.

However, some members countered the abusive language by calling the agriculture minister ‘Ambothu’.

This created further trouble with the members from both sides engaged in shouting and blaming each other.

This forced the chairman to adjourn the house for the third time to meet again on Tuesday.
