AP Constitutes Haj Committee Under the 2002 Act
The executive officer of the AP State Haj Committee will serve as the ex officio member and convener of the panel. The tenure of the committee members will be governed by provisions laid down in the government orders.

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government has constituted the State Haj Committee in accordance with the Haj Committee Act, 2002, Minority Welfare Department Secretary Chitturi Sridhar announced on Thursday.
He stated that the committee has been established under the aegis of the State Minorities Welfare (Vigilance) Department, with representation from public representatives, Islamic scholars, social workers, and members of local bodies to ensure broad-based participation.
The newly formed committee includes MLA Mohammed Naseer Ahmed among the public representatives. Representatives from local bodies include S. Reshma Parveen, Sheikh Abdul Hussain, and Sheikh Jabeen. Eminent scholars in Islamic theology appointed to the panel are Maulana Abdul Aleem Junaid, Syed Shaji Sultan Moosavi, and Maulana Sheikh Abid.
The committee also comprises noted social activists such as Sheikh Hasan Basha, Meera Saheb Sheikh, Mirza Abid Hussain Beg, N. Baba Fakruddin, and Suri Mansoor Ali Khan. Additionally, Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board Chairman Abdul Aziz has been included as a member.
The Executive Officer of the AP State Haj Committee will serve as the ex officio member and convener of the panel. The tenure of the committee members will be governed by provisions laid down in the government orders. However, the terms of the Islamic scholars Maulana Abdul Aleem Junaid and Maulana Sheikh Abid will be for a period of three years from the date of issuance of the gazette notification.
The government order further clarified that the State Haj Committee will function under the administrative purview of the Minority Welfare Department.
