AP CM Vows To Resolve Land Disputes, Issue Error-Free Pattadar Passbooks by March

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said all land disputes would be resolved and error-free pattadar passbooks issued by the end of March to provide justice to people.

Addressing people during the ‘Mee Bhoomi-Mee Hakku’ programme at Panduvaripeta village in Ambajipeta mandal of the Dr BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, Naidu said, “I feel fortunate to visit Konaseema area for the second time in the recent past where one finds lush green coconut plantations and crops and the Godavari river.”

“The people in the area are honest. Despite the El Nino impact with shortage of rainfall, the Konaseema area is full of greenery. From Godavari river, nearly 1,000 tmc-ft of water has been discharged into the sea this season.”

Naidu explained the government’s efforts to reach out to people through several programmes in all assembly constituencies, with the CM visiting people four times a month.

He stressed the administration’s role in formulating policies to provide justice to people.

Naidu said, “Myself, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi formed an NDA and are making all efforts to reconstruct the state, which was destroyed during the five-year reign of the previous YSRC government.”

The CM listed programmes including the ‘Pedala Sevalo’ to distribute social security pensions to the poor on the first day of every month, the P-4 to improve the living standards of the poor, and the ‘Swachh Andhra-Swarna Andhra’ on the third Saturday to make AP free from garbage, create wealth from waste and promote a circular economy.

On the fourth Saturday, the government takes up the Sanjeevini programme to provide healthcare and generate digital health cards.

Naidu advocated population growth, reversing his earlier campaign for small families, and said children were a wealth. He called upon couples to have more children.

He criticised the previous YSRC regime over anomalies in the land resurvey and said some land parcels had been placed under Section 22-A of the Registration Act, 1908, and included in the prohibited list, preventing registration.

The government, he said, had abolished the Land Titling Act soon after assuming power; and criticised the previous government for putting the then chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s photograph on pattadar passbooks and granite survey stones.

The CM said the government had replaced these with the state emblem on pattadar passbooks, withdrawn land parcels from the 22-A list and introduced eKYC, QR codes and blockchain technology to make land ownership more secure and prevent copying or tampering.

“Some 36 lakh pattadar passbooks had been issued so far,” he said, and promised that the remaining 56 lakh would be issued to beneficiaries without errors by March end.

Naidu said the government had withdrawn 16 lakh acres of land from 22-A and resolved 22 land issues that had been pending for decades.

Earlier, the CM laid the foundation for modernisation of the power grid of APEPDCL and unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.
