AP CM Urges Public To Join Census Drive, Does Self-Enumeration

The self-enumeration window will remain open till April 30

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has urged the people to make full use of the online self-enumeration facility and provide accurate information to contribute to the state’s development.

He called upon all citizens to actively participate in the ongoing process and ensure its success.

Leading by example, the CM registered his household details through the official online portal on the opening day of the self-enumeration process on Thursday, under the House Listing–House Census programme in Andhra Pradesh.

The online registration process, which began in the morning, enables citizens to submit details through a structured questionnaire comprising 33 questions. AP census director J. Nivas briefed the CM on the process and its significance.

Officials said the self-enumeration window will remain open till April 30, allowing households to voluntarily upload their information. This will be followed by the second phase from May 1 to May 30, during which enumerators will conduct door-to-door visits for physical verification and data collection.

Naidu said the state government is committed to ensuring that the welfare and development benefits reached all sections of society in an equitable manner. He stressed that development planning must treat the family as the basic unit, and that the census exercise was critical for achieving this goal.

He noted that this was the first census activity in Andhra Pradesh after the state’s bifurcation and said this was not just a data-gathering exercise but a foundation for future growth.

The Census will be conducted in two phases, with the ongoing house listing phase to be followed by population enumeration beginning next year.
