AP CM Naidu Pushing State Into Debts, Says Jagan
Naidu devastated the State on all fronts in the last 12 months: Jagan

Hyderabad: YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday slammed the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for pushing Andhra Pradesh into debts.
Addressing a press conference at Tadepalli, he explained in detail the debts incurred by Naidu's government during its one-year rule. Alleging that Naidu has become a debt king, he said the former has devastated the State on all fronts in the last 12 months.
“If we borrowed Rs.3,32,671 lakh crore in our five-year rule, Naidu borrowed Rs.1,37,546 lakh crore in 12 months. The debts we borrowed in five years, Naidu did in a year and he is also violating the Constitution in borrowings,” Jagan said.
Naidu said that he would create wealth before elections. “If we look at the CAG report, there is no development. There is no sign of welfare. Investments have decreased during the one-year rule. People's purchasing power has decreased. The State’s treasury is not getting revenue. All the State’s revenue is going into the pockets of Naidu’s thugs. Even during the outbreak of Covid, the YSRCP government ensured development, welfare, and good governance to the people,” Reddy said.
“The coalition government in AP pledged mines to APMDC and borrowed Rs 9,000 crore,” he said, stating that the future of APMDC has been thrown into darkness as private individuals were taking over the State mines.
Referring to the liquor scam, Reddy said that Naidu has once again taken out his magic wand. “He (Naidu) is managing the affairs and suppressing the voices of those who question his frauds. He brought to fore a false propaganda called liquor scam and took steps to gain political favor,” he said.
“Who will give bribes if liquor shops are run by the government or by private individuals? If the number of shops is reduced by 33 percent anywhere, will they give bribes? Liquor sales have decreased between 2019 and 2024. Not a single company has been given a license.”
“We have increased taxes resulting in an increase in the State's income. At the same time, we have benefited the health of the people by reducing alcohol consumption. We have put a QR code on every bottle. Our (YSRCP) government has conducted sales without any profit motive,” he explained.
“Where did the original liquor scam take place? Naidu said that he would reduce liquor prices if he comes to power. But now, liquor is being sold at high prices under his rule. Liquor sales have increased in the State during these 12 months. Belt shops have sprung up in every corner during the coalition rule. Rice is not being delivered at the doorstep but liquor is being delivered. The shops are running under the watchful eyes of MLAs and Ministers. He has brought new brands like never before,” Reddy added.
