AP CM Extends New Year Greetings To Beneficiaries of NTR Bharosa Pensions

Naidu stated that since the formation of the present government 18 months ago, Andhra Pradesh has spent over Rs 50,000 crore on pensions, a scale of welfare expenditure unmatched anywhere else in the country.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday extended New Year greetings to lakhs of beneficiaries receiving NTR Bharosa pensions, describing the scheme as one of the most satisfying welfare initiatives of the alliance government.

The scheme provides crucial financial security to the poor and the disadvantaged, the CM said in a message marking the New Year.
He announced that pension payments for December were being released a day in advance, ensuring that the beneficiaries received the amount at their doorsteps on December 31, instead of the scheduled January 1. The early disbursal, he hoped, would bring cheer and a sense of security to pensioners as they step into the New Year.
Naidu stated that since the formation of the present government 18 months ago, Andhra Pradesh has spent over Rs 50,000 crore on pensions, a scale of welfare expenditure unmatched anywhere else in the country. For December alone, the government released Rs 2,743 crore to cover 63.12 lakh beneficiaries across the state.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive welfare, the CM said the pension distribution mechanism has been streamlined to ensure timely, transparent and doorstep delivery, particularly benefiting senior citizens, persons with disabilities, widows and other vulnerable sections.
“Providing economic assurance to the poor through pensions gives us immense satisfaction. It is not merely a welfare measure, but a guarantee of dignity and security,” he observed.
Reiterating that the NTR Bharosa scheme reflects his government’s people-centric governance, Naidu said welfare programmes would continue to be strengthened without compromise, even while pursuing development and growth.
The Chief Minister said, “We worked to stabilise welfare delivery and reach the poorest of the poor, while also restoring investor confidence. Despite many challenges, we achieved double-digit growth. We restored and protected the sanctity of our religious places and improved the pilgrimage experience for devotees. We attracted major investments such as Google and laid the foundations for quantum technology. We also managed calamities like Cyclone Montha effectively, providing timely relief and support.”
Behind every achievement, he said, “There existed a dedicated workforce, supported by the trust and cooperation of our people. Our work will continue.”
On the eve of the New Year, Naidu stated, “As we look back on 2025 and prepare to welcome 2026, I would like to take a moment to appreciate our officers, employees and every individual who served our people with dedication and selflessness. In 2026, we will focus on the Speed of Delivering Governance for all to build a healthy, wealthy and happy Swarna Andhra.”
Naidu added, “Most importantly, none of this progress would have been possible without the trust, blessings and support of the people of Andhra Pradesh, who are the true drivers of our growth. I wish you all a very happy and prosperous New Year.”
The Chief Minister conveyed his New Year greetings to all pension beneficiaries, expressing the hope that 2026 would bring peace, prosperity and well-being to every household in Andhra Pradesh.
