AP CM Asserts That Amaravati’s Growth as Capital Is Unstoppable
The CM expressed confidence that Amaravati will soon emerge as a globally admired capital city.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday dismissed criticism that capital Amaravati is being constructed in a river basin and declared “Amaravati’s construction is now unstoppable.”
He maintained that civilisations flourish where there is water. “Cities, such as Vijayawada, Rajamahendravaram, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi and even London, stand on riverbanks,” he pointed out.
Naidu maintained that the Amaravati site stands sanctified with sacred soil and water from temples, mosques and churches, making it a true “people’s capital.”
He made the comments while addressing students and faculty at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education in Vijayawada.
The CM expressed confidence that Amaravati will soon emerge as a globally admired capital city. He observed that some people are unable to digest the pace of Amaravati’s development and are indulging in baseless criticism. He recalled that earlier such attempts to stall the capital had failed.
“Those who do not understand history should not play politics,” he remarked, in an indirect reference to the previous regime.
Naidu lauded the Siddhartha Academy as one of the finest educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh. He said the academy has earned national recognition by shaping the careers of lakhs of students and playing a key role in transforming Vijayawada into an education hub. He said he has had the privilege of attending both the Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations of the institution.
Highlighting the state government’s focus on value-based education, the Chief Minister said initiatives, such as mega parent-teachers meetings held twice a year, are aimed at strengthening the bond between parents, students and teachers, while promoting ethical values among youth.
Outlining AP’s technology-driven vision, he said the state is moving from an IT-focused phase to one driven by artificial intelligence and quantum technologies. A quantum computer will begin functioning from Amaravati within six months, along with specialised courses in quantum algorithms.
Reaffirming his commitment to Viksit Bharat and Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047, Chandrababu Naidu said Vijayawada, Guntur, Mangalagiri and Amaravati will together evolve soon into one of the country’s best liveable global cities.
