AP BJP Highlights Budget Boost for Andhra Pradesh

Madhav also said the expansion of Google’s AI Hub in Visakhapatnam would receive tax exemptions until 2047 for global cloud service providers using Indian data centres.

Visakhapatnam: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president P.V.N. Madhav highlighted the substantial allocations for Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget 2026–27, during a meeting held in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. District president M.M.N. Parasurama Raju presided over the event

Madhav said the Central government had approved major funding for the development of the state capital, with Rs 1,128.91 crore allocated for Amaravati and Rs 432.09 crore for integrated urban development in the capital region.

He added that Rs 500.99 crore had been earmarked for rural roads, Rs 800 crore for urban water supply and sewage management, Rs 350 crore for road and bridge reconstruction, and a major allocation of Rs 3,320 crore for the Polavaram Irrigation Project.

Madhav also said the expansion of Google’s AI Hub in Visakhapatnam would receive tax exemptions until 2047 for global cloud service providers using Indian data centres.

He further noted that eco-friendly trekking trails in Araku Valley and bird-watching programmes at Pulicat Lake were part of initiatives to develop Andhra Pradesh as a world-class nature-based tourism destination. Five iconic tourist destinations in eastern states, including Andhra Pradesh, would be developed under the integrated east coast industrial corridor. He added that the east coast industrial corridor would include a strategic node at Durgapur to accelerate regional industrialisation.

The BJP leader said the Budget also approved rare earth corridors for the mineral-rich state to support mining and manufacturing of critical raw materials.

Madhav said the proposed Rs 10,000 crore small and medium enterprises growth fund would provide equity support to small industries, while the Rs 10,000 crore container manufacturing scheme would help reduce import dependence and lower export costs through ports such as Visakhapatnam, Krishnapatnam and Kakinada.
