AP BJP Chief Lashes Out At Jagan For Supporting CJP
Andhra Pradesh BJP chief P.V.N. Madhav criticised Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for expressing support for CJP leaders arrested during protests over electoral roll revision.
Andhra Pradesh BJP president P.V.N. Madhav on Thursday lashed out at YSR Congress president and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for expressing empathy towards the Cockroach Janata Party leaders who are demanding the removal of chief election commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar alleging irregularities in the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Earlier in the day, Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a post on X said the arrest of CJP leaders, including Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, would not solve anything. The former CM observed that this would only aggravate the situation.
The YSRC president called for trust in the electoral system to be restored.
In a sharp reaction, the BJP senior leader wondered as to how the former chief minister, who is facing cases booked by ED and CBI, could make such a statement.
Madhav said people of the state still remember the anarchy and violence perpetrated by the previous YSR Congress regime. He maintained that people are closely monitoring both the YSRC and CJP and would teach them a lesson in a democratic manner.
