AP Approves 28 Acres For SAAP’s Sports City In Tirupati

SAAP chairman A. Ravi Naidu had earlier informed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu about the requirement for land to promote sports in Tirupati. Acting on this request, the government has released GO No. 490 on Friday.

TIRUPATI: State government has issued orders approving allotment of 28.37 acres of land at Daminedu near Tirupati to Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) for building sports infrastructure of national standards in the area.

SAAP chairman A. Ravi Naidu had earlier informed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu about the requirement for land to promote sports in Tirupati. Acting on this request, the government has released GO No. 490 on Friday.

As per the order, land in survey numbers 193-8, 193-9 and nearby locations in Daminedu village of Tirupati Rural mandal is being earmarked for creating a sports city with infrastructure of national standards.

Ravi Naidu has thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan, IT minister N. Lokesh and other members of the state cabinet for approving the land for the proposed sports city.

The SAAP chairman said the decision will help Tirupati grow into a major sports destination in the coming years. Work on building the infrastructure will start soon, he added.
