AP Appoints New Heads for Medical Colleges, Teaching Hospitals
Dr. K.V.S.M. Sandhya Devi, currently serving as a temporary principal and professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has been appointed as the principal of Andhra Medical College (AMC) in Visakhapatnam

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has ordered appointment of new principals to six government medical colleges and new superintendents for the five teaching hospitals in the state.
Accordingly, the Medical and Health department has issued directives on Sunday. As per these orders, three existing principals and one superintendent are being transferred, while three new principals and five new superintendents are being appointed.
Dr. K.V.S.M. Sandhya Devi, currently serving as a temporary principal and professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, has been appointed as the principal of Andhra Medical College (AMC) in Visakhapatnam. Professor (Anaesthesia) Dr. A. Vishnu Vardhan, formerly the vice-principal of Kakinada Government Medical College (GMC), has now been appointed as its principal.
Dr. G. Rajeswari, who is a professor of Biochemistry at GMC, Rajamahendravaram, has been appointed as the principal of GMC, Nellore. Dr. K.A.V. Subramanyam, working as a professor of Endocrinology at AMC in Visakhapatnam, has been appointed as the superintendent of Government General Hospital (GGH), Ongole.
Dr. C. Amulya, a professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at AMC, Visakhapatnam, will now serve as the superintendent of GGH in Srikakulam. Dr. A.V. Rao, who has been serving as the temporary superintendent at GGH Vijayawada, has now been confirmed as the superintendent.
Dr. J. Radha, a professor of Anaesthesia at Sri Venkateswara Medical College, has been appointed as the superintendent of SVRRGH in Tirupati. Dr. V. Manmadha Rao, a professor of General Surgery at AMC Visakhapatnam, has been appointed as the superintendent of GGH, Visakhapatnam.
Dr. D.V.S.L. Narasimham, currently serving as the principal of GMC, Kakinada, and as DME, will continue as DME in-charge. Dr. A. Surekha, the principal at GMC, Kadapa, has been transferred to GMC, Nandyal. Dr. T. Jamuna, the superintendent at GGH, Ongole, has been transferred to serve as the principal at GMC, Kadapa. Dr. G. Ravi Prabhu, superintendent at SVRRGH in Tirupati, will now take on the role of principal at the Sri Venkateswara Medical College in Tirupati.
According to sources, of the 12 individuals recommended for promotion to DME level, five have declined the promotion.
Health minister Satya Kumar Yadav has expressed concern over this. He has escalated the issue to the attention of the Chief Minister.
