AP appoints ‘Inquiring Authority’ to probe charges of abuse of power against former CID chief Sunil Kumar

Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed an ‘Inquiring Authority’, led by Special Chief Secretary for Revenue (Land, Registration and Stamps) R.P. Sisodia, to investigate the charges against former CID Chief P.V. Sunil Kumar.

Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand issued an order on Friday, designating Director General (Vigilance and Enforcement) Harish Kumar Gupta as the ‘Presenting Officer’ to represent the case before the Inquiring Authority.

The inquiry will assess the charges of abuse of power during Sunil Kumar’s tenure as CID chief, and the report will be submitted within the stipulated time frame.
