AP Announces Schedule for Water Release for Cultivation Crops for Kharif
Ramanaidu said 46 tmc of water was available in major and medium reservoirs for cultivation purposes.
Vijayawada:The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday announced the schedule for release of irrigation water for cultivation during the ensuing Kharif season.
Water resources minister Nimmala Ramanaidu and agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu released the schedule in Vijayawada.
Ramanaidu said 46 tmc of water was available in major and medium reservoirs for cultivation purposes.
According to the schedule, water for the Godavari delta system will be released from June 1, Galeru-Nagari Sujala Sravanthi from June 10 and the Telugu Ganga Project in Kadapa from June 15.
The minister also announced schedules for release of water under several irrigation projects in north Andhra.
Both ministers directed officials to complete works such as weed removal and desiltation in irrigation canals by the end of May. The works are being taken up at a cost of `397 crore.
