Anticipatory bail plea arguments for Kakani conclude; Court reserves judgment

The charges against Kakani originate from a complaint by a mining official, alleging encroachment on government land and illegal quartz mining.

Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court has concluded hearing arguments on the anticipatory bail plea of former minister and YSR Congress leader Kakani Govardhan Reddy, and has reserved its judgment.

Kakani's lawyers argued before the court that the cases filed against him were politically motivated acts of revenge.
In contrast, the police counsel asserted that the former minister had abused his power and intimidated several individuals.
