Annamayya District Police Plays Key Role In Arrest Of Kakani

A custody petition would be filed soon to interrogate Kakani as part of further investigation into the case - DSP Sreenivasa Rao

NELLORE: A special police team led by Rayachoti (Annamayya district) DSP M.R. Krishna Mohan played a key role in the arrest of the former minister and YSRC Nellore district president Kakani Govardhan Reddy from a farmhouse in Chintamani town, Karnataka, around 2 pm on Sunday.


The operation was carried out following a communication from Nellore SP G. Krishna Kanth, who had been closely monitoring Kakani’s movements, to the SP of Annamayya district. The team transported the former minister to Nellore and handed him over to rural DSP Ghattamaneni Sreenivasa Rao at approximately 9:30 pm the same day.


Sharing the information with Deccan Chronicle, DSP Sreenivasa Rao stated that a custody petition would be filed soon to interrogate Kakani as part of further investigation into the case.
