Annadata Sukhibhava to Be Rolled Out on August 2

CM to launch scheme from Darsi

Vijayawada: As part of the alliance government’s commitment to implementing the Super Six promises, the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme will be rolled out on August 2.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would launch the scheme at Veerayapalem in Darsi mandal of Prakasam district. A total of 46,85,838 farmers across the state would benefit from this.

In the first phase, the state government will directly deposit Rs 5,000 into each farmer’s account, amounting to a total outlay of Rs 2,342.92 crore.

The CM conducted a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday with senior officials from the finance, revenue, water resources and agriculture departments to assess the preparedness for rolling out the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme.

Participating in the meeting via video mode, Naidu issued several instructions to the district collectors. He emphasised that every eligible farmer must receive the scheme benefits. “Supporting the farmers is the government’s duty.”

“The rolling out of Annadata Sukhibhava on August 2 should create a festive atmosphere. This programme must be organised at the village secretariat, panchayat, mandal and constituency levels,” he said.

Naidu said, “We are fulfilling our promises to farmers by launching Annadata Sukhibhava. Politicians may frame policies, but officials implement them. Everyone in the system must act with a sense of accountability. Intimation messages must reach beneficiary farmers a day in advance through Manamitra. Ensure that farmers are aware and able to activate their accounts.”

"The government’s schemes and programmes must be clearly communicated to the people. There are reports of declining papaya prices. These issues must be reviewed and justice ensured for farmers," Naidu said.

He said, “Collectors must be responsible for fertiliser supply. No shortage should be allowed. With continued inflows into the Srisailam project, projects like Gandikota, Brahmasagar, Somasil, and Kandaleru must be filled to 100 per cent capacity. Reservoir water levels must be assessed, and water management should be done meticulously.”

The CM noted, “As the US has imposed 25 per cent tariffs on India, we must take precautions by considering its impact on agricultural exports. MLAs and MPs must participate in the Annadata Sukhibhava programme. A brochure with details of the assistance given to farmers so far should be prepared and distributed at the grassroots level.”

He explained, “The coalition government’s promise of Rs 20,000 per year per farming family, with support from the Centre, would be fulfilled through the Annadata Sukhibhava and PM Kisan schemes. Along with the Rs 6,000 annual aid from the Centre, the state government would provide an additional Rs 14,000.

The state, Naidu said, would disburse this in three installments of Rs 5,000 in the first and second phases, and Rs 4,000 in the third. The Centre would contribute Rs 2,000 per farmer in the first phase, amounting to Rs 831.51 crore. Thus, a total of Rs 7,000 will be credited to each farmer on August 2 through the joint efforts of the central and state governments.

Grievances: Naidu said that meanwhile 59,750 grievances were registered under Annadata Sukhibhava, of which 58,464 have been resolved. A toll-free number, 155251, has been issued to resolve queries regarding the scheme.

Participants in the review meeting included chief secretary K Vijayanand, special CS to agriculture B Rajasekhar, CCLA special CS Jayalakshmi, CM’s principal secretary Muddada Ravichandra, finance principal secretary Piyush Kumar, CM’s secretary Rajamouli, agriculture director Dilli Rao, and district collectors.
