Anitha Visits Ongole Murder Site, Assures Stern Action Against Culprits

The minister stated that all possible angles, including technical evidence, are being examined to ensure the culprits are brought to justice without delay.

Nellore, April 23: Expressing shock over the brutal murder of former TD Mandal Praja Parishad president Muppavarapu Veerayya in Ongole on Tuesday night, home minister Vangalapudi Anitha said district police acted swiftly, with SP A.R. Damodhar reaching the crime scene and forming 12 special teams, each headed by a DSP-rank officer.

Addressing the media in the early hours of Wednesday, the minister stated that all possible angles, including technical evidence, are being examined to ensure the culprits are brought to justice without delay.
She visited the crime scene near Padma Towers in Ongole on Tuesday night, where Veerayya Chowdary was murdered. The incident occurred around 7.35 p.m., and the minister described the situation as deeply distressing.
Expressing strong condemnation, Anitha said the killing of a respected leader like Veerayya Chowdary was not only tragic but utterly unacceptable. She warned that no matter how influential the accused may be, they would face the full force of the law.
She paid homage to the deceased and conveyed heartfelt condolences to his family. The minister also assured that stringent security measures are being implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
She was accompanied by Prakasam SP A.R. Damodhar, Maritime Board Chairman Damacharla Sathya, Ongole DSP Srinivas Rao, and other senior police officials.
