Anita Directs Intensified Search for Missing Fisherman in Vizag

The Minister advised to carry out an extensive search operation through coordinated action of the Fisheries Department, Marine Police, and Coast Guard

Hyderabad: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita has instructed officials to intensify search operations to trace the missing fisherman, Appanna after a boat incident from 12 nautical miles off the Visakhapatnam coast.

The Minister advised to carry out extensive search operation through coordinated action of the Fisheries Department, Marine Police, and Coast Guard. She inquired with officials to gather details regarding the incident.

Out of eight fishermen who went to sea on August 16, one went missing. The Minister also inquired about the well-being of the remaining fishermen. “All available resources must be utilized to safely locate the missing Appanna and reunite him with his family,” she said.

“Greater vigilance must be maintained regarding the safety of fishermen venturing into the sea,” the Minister said, adding that the State government stands by the affected fisherman's family. The administration is continuously monitoring the search operations on a real-time basis.
