Andhra Pradesh: YSRC Has No Moral Right To Comment On Brahmin Welfare, Says Corporation Director

NELLORE: Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Corporation director Vucchi Bhuvaneswari Prasad on Monday alleged that the YSRC had neglected the welfare of the Brahmin community during its tenure and had no moral right to comment on the issue.
Addressing a press conference at the Telugu Desam office in Nellore, Bhuvaneswari Prasad was responding to remarks made by former endowments department adviser Jwalapuram Srikanth.
He alleged that the previous YSRC government had merged the Brahmin Corporation with the BC Corporation, while the present coalition government had revived the corporation and restored it under the endowments department.
Bhuvaneswari Prasad said the coalition government had increased the monthly remuneration of priests in small temples from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 and doubled the Dhoopa Deepa Naivedyam honorarium from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000. He also claimed that pensions were being provided to Brahmin widows and senior citizens under the NTR Bharosa scheme and that loans were being extended through the Brahmin Cooperative Credit Society.
He further alleged that the previous YSRC government had failed to protect temples and criticised its handling of temple administration. He said the party had no moral authority to comment on Brahmin welfare or the administration of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).
