VIJAYAWADA: Dr YSR Horticultural University has been awarded the 16th rank in the National Green University Ranking-2026 for scoring 92.0/100 and getting the rating of 'gold'.
The National Green University Ranking-2026 is a flagship initiative of ‘Green Mentors’, designed to benchmark, recognise and accelerate sustainability transformation across Indian higher education institutions.
The evaluation encompasses sustainability governance and leadership, campus biodiversity and green cover, carbon and climate action, green infrastructure and energy efficiency, research and innovation for sustainability, sustainability in curriculum and pedagogy, water management and conservation, sustainable transportation, waste management and circular economy and community engagement and outreach.
Moreover, the university has been invited to participate in the 10th NYC Green School Conference 2026 in New York, where universities recognised under the National Green University Ranking 2026 will be honoured before an international audience of higher education learners, policymakers, researchers and global partners.
