Andhra Pradesh: Woman Seeks AP, TG Police Help To Trace Missing Husband

KAKINADA: A woman from Kakinada has appealed to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana police to trace her husband, who has been missing since April after he left for work in Bidar of Karnataka.
Sangani Mary, belonging to the fishermen community, said her husband Sangani Prasad, an expert in roofing and sheeting work, had been taken by contractor Palepu Nukaraju of Kakinada for work in Bidar in Karnataka on April 22 along with six others.
According to Mary, Prasad telephoned her on April 26 and informed her that the group had moved to Banda Mylaram village in Mulugu mandal on April 25 for another assignment.
Mary said that when she later contacted Nukaraju seeking her husband’s wages, he allegedly told her that Prasad had quarrelled with other workers and left the worksite.
However, Prasad did not return home to Kakinada. Mary said she lodged a complaint at Mulugu police station in Telangana on May 6 about her husband missing, following which a case had been registered. She alleged that despite approaching authorities in both Telugu states, her husband has not been traced yet.
Mary went on to allege that as per her inquiries, contractor Nukaraju and his son-in-law Karri Madhu had allegedly quarrelled with Prasad. Madhu had allegedly threatened to kill Prasad at the time. Mary fears that her husband might have been harmed by Nukaraju and Madhu.
Mary has requested the governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to conduct a thorough investigation, trace her husband, and provide justice to her. She said she has three children and is facing severe financial hardship following her husband’s disappearance
