AP Wins Wedding Destination Emerging State Award at Jaipur Tourism Conclave

Durgesh said the award would further strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s tourism profile and help attract domestic and international visitors.

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh received major recognition in the tourism sector, winning the ‘Best Wedding Destination Emerging State’ award at the International Wedding and Tourism Conclave (IWTC) held in Jaipur. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh received the honour on Monday.

Durgesh said the state government aims to establish Andhra Pradesh as one of India’s leading destinations for weddings. AP is blessed with beautiful locales like the Visakhapatnam beaches, Araku Valley, the lush greenery of Konaseema, the natural splendor of Maredumilli, and the spiritual significance of Tirupati. They hold immense potential for destination wedding tourism at a global level, he said.

The minister said the coalition government is giving special priority to tourism development and has initiated several measures to promote destination weddings across AP and has invited investors. Under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan, the government is giving the highest priority to the tourism sector, he said. Through the new AP Tourism Policy 2024–29, single-window clearances, industrial status, and incentive policies for homestays, caravans, and bed & breakfasts, along with allied policies, the government is extending full support to investors in every way, he informed.

Efforts are also underway to attract investments, improve tourism infrastructure and promote the state internationally.

Durgesh said the award would further strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s tourism profile and help attract domestic and international visitors. The government also expects the expansion of wedding tourism to create new employment opportunities and contribute to the state’s economic growth.
