AP Wins Wedding Destination Emerging State Award at Jaipur Tourism Conclave

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has received the “Best Wedding Destination – Emerging State Award” at the International Wedding and Tourism Conclave (IWTC) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The award is in recognition of AP’s efforts to promote the state as a destination for domestic and international weddings.

Tourism and culture minister Kandula Durgesh received the award on behalf of Andhra Pradesh at a ceremony held in Jaipur on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Durgesh said the recognition reflects Andhra Pradesh government's efforts under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan, with the support of the Centre, to strengthen AP’s tourism sector. The minister underlined that the state government is working to position Andhra Pradesh as one of India's preferred destinations for weddings by leveraging its scenic locations, cultural heritage, and hospitality infrastructure. He expressed confidence that the state would emerge as a preferred destination for wedding tourism, thereby attracting people from across the country and abroad.

Durgesh pointed out that Andhra Pradesh has received several national recognitions for its initiatives in promoting tourism. He recalled that the state recently won the Best Tourism Promotion State Award at the Global Travel Market event in Kerala, while Araku Valley received the Most Instagrammable Landscape Award in the Indian Roots Editors' Choice category at an event in Goa.

The minister asserted that the latest recognition in Jaipur would encourage the government to further strengthen tourism infrastructure and promotional activities. He thanked organisers of the International Wedding and Tourism Conclave for the award. He reiterated AP government's commitment to making tourism a key driver of economic growth and employment in the state.
