Andhra Pradesh Tops Key Sectors: RBI Report
State shows strong growth in agriculture, economy and social indicators

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a frontrunner across several key sectors, according to the latest report released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which highlights the state’s strong performance in agriculture, fisheries, economic growth and social indicators.
The report places Andhra Pradesh first nationally in fruit production, with an output of 19.3 million tonnes, making it the largest fruit-producing state in the country. The state has also secured the top position in fish production, recording an impressive 5.158 million tonnes, underlining its dominance in the fisheries sector.
On the economic front, Andhra Pradesh has shown steady progress. For the financial year 2024–25, the state’s gross state domestic product (GSDP) has been estimated at Rs 15.93 lakh crore. The per capita GSDP stands at Rs 2.66 lakh, reflecting sustained economic activity and income growth.
In terms of power availability, Andhra Pradesh ranks 14th in the country, with per capita electricity availability of 1,481 units. The RBI report also highlights encouraging health indicators, with the state’s average life expectancy recorded at 70 years. Male life expectancy stands at 68 years, while women enjoy a higher average lifespan of 73 years.
In achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Andhra Pradesh, along with the other Telugu state, secured a score of 74, placing it 10th at the national level.
The RBI findings underline Andhra Pradesh’s balanced progress across economic, agricultural and social sectors.
