Andhra Pradesh to Launch Naipunyam Skills Portal
Under the Akshara Andhra literacy campaign, the state has identified 16 lakh illiterates. Citing this, Lokesh told the officials that education training for them must begin soon.

VIJAYAWADA: Education Minister Nara Lokesh has said Andhra Pradesh would launch the skill development portal, Naipunyam, in September to connect youths with industrial units.
Fashioned as a role model for the entire country, Lokesh on Friday reviewed the preparedness of the portal’s launch at a meeting with officials on Friday.
Officials presented a demonstration of the portal. The portal would be integrated with the Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme, to enable youths get wider opportunities.
Lokesh said no other state had developed such a comprehensive portal so far. The system would bring together all state skill centres, as well as institutions such as NAC and C-DAC, creating a one-stop platform for skilling, job-fixing and internship opportunities.
Officials said the portal would provide training for nearly 50,000 youth annually, covering 36 sectors with over 3,000 job categories already registered. The programme would be tailored in line with industry requirements to ensure that students at the end of the course are job-ready.
Apart from skill-related initiatives, the meeting also discussed reforms in intermediate education. Visually impaired students would be permitted to enrol in MPC and BiPC groups.

The review meeting was attended by skill and training department secretary Kona Sasidhar, skill corporation MD Ganesh Kumar, APSDC executive director K Raghu, associate director Kumar Purushotham and Intermediate education director Kritika Shukla.
