Andhra Pradesh: Sunday Witnesses Heavy Influx of Tourists into Agency Areas

Visakhapatnam: Tourist hotspots in the agency areas of north Andhra experienced a remarkable surge in visitors on Sunday, thanks to the extended holidays following the Sankranti festival.
Over the past week, destinations from Lambasingi in Chintapalli mandal to Borra Caves in Anantagiri mandal witnessed a deluge of tourists eager to savour the natural beauty of the winter season.
Traditionally, schools resume functioning a day after the festival. However, this year, they reopened five days later, allowing families ample time to explore the scenic attractions. As a result, numerous popular sites, including Borra Caves, Katika and Tadiguda waterfalls, Madagada Meghala Konda, the Tribal Museum, Chaparai Jalavihari, Vanjangi Hills, Kothapalli Waterfall and Lambasingi saw a considerable number of visitors.
Borra Caves’ manager Gowri Shankar disclosed that the site's revenue as of January 18 stands at ₹85 lakh. "With 10 days remaining in January, it is anticipated that Borra Caves will generate a total revenue of ₹1.14 crore this month, surpassing last year's record," he told Deccan Chronicle.
Mist has been heavy; lingering until 9 a.m.in the Manyam region and Vanjangi Meghala Konda. It captivated visitors with its ethereal ambience. Misty clouds create a mesmerising sight as the rising Sun pierces through, casting moonlit rays. This natural spectacle has made Vanjangi a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts.
Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Lambasingi facility manager Appala Naidu highlighted the surge in tourists at "Andhra’s Kashmir." He said tourist activity commenced early in the morning at Cheruvulavenam Viewpoint, Lambasingi Junction, Bheemanapalli and Tajangi Reservoir. The picturesque misty landscape at Cheruvulavenam Viewpoint attracted many tourists, who competed for photo opportunities within the stunning scenery. Tourist hubs and strawberry gardens continued bustling with visitors until evening.
Visitors also flocked to Kothapalli Waterfall in G. Madugula mandal, where they indulged in water games and spent quality time with their families. The significant influx of tourists increased the demand for accommodation in Paderu as well as local resorts. Dining establishments and tiffin services did great business in Vanjangi.
