Andhra Pradesh: Pavithrotsavams Begin At Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple

NELLORE: The annual Pavithrotsavams of Sri Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Temple in Nellore began on Saturday and will continue till August 28, with special rituals being performed in accordance with Vaishnava Agama traditions.
The week-long programme includes special ceremonies such as Tirumanjanam, Pavitra Pratishta, homams and other traditional rituals. The Pavithrotsavams are conducted annually as a purification and atonement ritual for inadvertent lapses or omissions during regular worship and rituals.
The celebrations commenced on August 22 with special rituals and will continue with daily worship and homams. The Sri Talpagiri Ranganatha Swamy Bhakta Brindam of Nellore will participate in the rituals on August 27.
The celebrations will conclude on August 28 with Purnahuthi, Tirumanjanam, Pavitra Samaropana and Mahakumbha Prokshana.
Temple authorities appealed to devotees to participate in the Pavithrotsavams and receive Teertha Prasadam.
The festivities are being conducted under the guidance of the temple chairman, executive authorities and dharmakarthas, with the support of devotees and well-wishers.
